I set out on my crazy journey around the world on November 20th. The first stop on our trip was Roma! My sister & her husband flew in the day before so I was anxious to see them. I flew into Milan & then flew to Rome. Arriving in Milan I was exhausted & disoriented so I woke myself up with a shot of espresso. Now I was ready!
^ This pretty little church was right next door to the Airbnb we stayed at.
^ The apartment complex we called home. It was near Vatican City & you could see St. Peter's from where we stayed, does it get any better?
I wanted to hit the ground running with Amy & Will. But first we stopped for a quick snack, fries anyone (haha!)
We walked through the neighborhood, along the Tiber River & eventually ended in one of my favorite neighborhoods the Trastevere.

^ I could walk along the river all day. It's perfect!
^ The Trastevere is a lively neighborhood with lots of cute restaurants, shops & bars. You can wander into any alley & get lost. We came here often for dinner & found some really great places.
^ Amy & I got our hands on scarves from the outdoor market.
After lots of walking around with our mouths open from the beauty, it was time for our first dinner together! My colleague who recently went to Rome recommended Dar Poeta so we headed there.
^ We ordered bruschetta, two pizza's & wine. I was so hungry that this is the only picture I got of the food. But let me tell you, it was delicious! It's a cute little place tucked away in an alley way. The staff is friendly, the prices are great & the food even better.
After dinner we walked home & I was already falling in love with Roma! I couldn't wait to explore more of this gorgeous city.
Check back soon to hear more about our time in Rome. I hope you all have a great week! Again I am sorry for the lack of posts lately. Tell me what you have been up to!
Xo,
Emily
