Bonnaroo I love You Pt. 2

The last two days at Bonnaroo arrived very quickly. It seemed like we were just getting started but we were already halfway. We wanted to make the most of it & see as many shows as possible.

Saturday Jordan started her day by going to Yoga & I headed straight for the shower. After, we met up & went into Centeroo to do a bit of exploring before the shows.

After exploring & getting lunch. We were ready for Chromeo!

^^ Chromeo always puts on a great show. Whenever I get a chance to see them, I will go! It's always a huge dance party. What could be better?

Then we went to Cut Copy.

^^ This was my first time seeing Cut Copy & I loved it. It was another one of my favorites at the festival. They put on such a great show! If you get a chance to see them you should go!

After Cut Copy we had planned to see The Flaming Lips & Kaskade. The first show (The Flaming Lips) didn't start until 12:00am so we decided to go back to camp to relax.

Unfortunately we were exhausted & when we got back to camp we both fell right to sleep. I fell asleep in a camp chair & Jordan asleep in the car... oops! We obviously didn't make it to the rest of the shows for the night.

After catching some extra zzz's we were ready for day 4! We went to Yoga in the morning & decided to take it easy throughout the day.

We sat at the beer garden for awhile & heard Capital Cities. Then we went to Fitz & the Tantrums but left early to see the Arctic Monkeys.

After seeing the Arctic Monkeys we wanted to chill but STAY AWAKE for Elton John later. We decided to go see Washed Out.

^^ We sat for Washed Out which is totally acceptable since the music is very laid back.

Bonnaroo was coming to an end & people started to leave the farm. But we decided to stay for Elton John & close off the weekend properly.

^^ Such a great way to end the weekend. Elton John is so talented & seems like such a nice guy! I loved hearing Your Song, Bennie & the Jets, Rocket Man & Tiny Dancer just to name a few.

Bonnaroo thank you for an amazing weekend & showing us a great time. We love you!

Friendships

Growing up isn't easy. When you're in your twenties you experience a plethora of changes some may include: graduating from college, moving away from home, getting your first "big kid" job, getting married, having kids etc. There are many different stages that everyone goes through. Some experience it quicker than others. During these changes it can feel like your relationships with your friends are changing too. Which let's face it, it isn't always easy!

Graduating from college
College was one of the best times of my life. I was in a sorority, joined student organizations, loved my major, studied abroad & had many great experiences. College spoiled me! I am not going to lie when I graduated I was shocked & wanted to run away from real life. It was scary.... nobody prepared me for this! I went from sitting in a classroom, mingling with my friends & having little responsibility to sitting at a desk from 9-5pm. What was this?

Not to mention when you graduate your friends start going in different directions. I know I wasn't prepared for that. To be quite honest I didn't know how to prepare myself for the changes that were coming. I remember the night before I moved to DC I was in my room talking to Amber; we were trying to comprehend what our lives would look like.

Moving Away from Home
When I moved away from home to head to DC I knew I would have to figure out a way to keep in touch with my friends. Some moved away & others stayed in Salt Lake City. Being across the country isn't the easiest but I knew I would figure out a way to stay in touch. Sometimes I get homesick & the one thing that keeps me grounded is being able to call my friends after a tough day. Moving away taught me a lesson about my friendships, some were there to stay & others had been lost. But that's ok!

Getting a "Big Girl" Job
Working full time is an adjustment. It's hard to keep in touch all the time when your working 40 or more hours a week. Sometimes the last thing you want to do is get on the phone & talk for an hour. Your friends might also be working a completely different schedule than you which adds a whole other complication to keeping in touch. I have learned that if I find myself in a slump or not wanting to talk to my friends from home after work that I should  just do it anyway. It always makes me feel better! I love to hear about their days & connect again.

Getting Married

I am in this stage right now, a lot of my friends are getting ready to tie the knot. How exciting for them! I love seeing my friends happy. When this happens don't forget you're still their friend & even though they may be spending more time with their significant other they still care about you. This makes your friendship stronger because you make time for each other & ultimately get to see the best of both worlds for your friendship.

Growing in & out of relationships is totally normal. Knowing who your good friends are & keeping in touch with them is so important. They will always be there for you through the different stages of your life. Your friendships will grow more than you ever expected. Sometimes the growing pains will hurt & sometimes they will be the happiest.

How have you dealt with friendships changing? I would love to hear!

Bonnaroo I Love You Pt. 1

Well, I survived 4 days of camping at Bonnaroo Music Festival. I didn't have the easiest start getting out to Tennessee on Wednesday night from DC. My plane was delayed 5 hours due to a tornado warning in the area. I finally arrived & met up with Jordan in Nashville at 4am. We headed to a near by hotel to get two hours of sleep before heading to Manchester to meet up with our camping group. At this point I am running on pure adrenaline & excitement!

Thursday morning we headed out & we couldn't wait! We stopped off at the grocery store to get some last minute items & then hit the road. We were freaking out on the way there because we were running late! But we finally made it...

After meeting the group we started to caravan into the camping area. The cars line up to get into the camping area but before getting in each car needs to be checked. We were just happy that we made it!

Once we got into the camp ground it was time to set up our tent & settle into our new home. The group we camped with brought ton of stuff & put a group area together with chairs, tables, food, grill, a charging station, etc. We were lucky to have a group to camp with!

^^The "hang out" area. Welcome home!

^^ J getting acquainted with the group. After hanging out for a bit it was time to head to centeroo where all the shows take place.

^^ In centeroo there are plenty of shops, food stands, places to get some shade & tons more.

^^ After exploring a bit we were ready to head into our shows. On Thursday we saw: The Preatures, Cass McCombs, Real Estate & Polica.

^^ The crowd heading into The Preatures.

^^ Cass McCombs put on a great show! We got super close & we were loving it. Then it was time to head to Real Estate.

^^ Real Estate was amazing. A perfect way to start off the first day at Bonnaroo before heading back to camp to relax for a bit before Polica.

At night the festival lights up & it's like a whole other world.

^^ Polica wasn't as good live as I was hoping but they were still fun to see. The crowd was huge as you can tell.

Day #1 was a success! We were feeling great & ready for day #2 filled with a ton of our fav bands. We saw The Naked & Famous, Chvrches, Phoenix, Kanye West & Disclosure (my favorite day!!) Before the shows at night we went to the comedy tent & saw T.J. Miller.

^^ The guy behind J kills me (lol!)

^^ Back at camp everyone was getting ready for the shows ahead for the night. Face paint anyone?

^^ Waiting for The Naked & Famous, why not take selfies?

^^ This is the second time I have seen The Naked & Famous. They always put on a good show, it was great to seem them again. After the show it was time for Chvrches.

^^ I've always loved Chvrches & seeing them right after The Naked & Famous was a great combination. I would have stayed longer but we had to leave early to catch Phoenix. Luckily it was totally worth it!

^^ Phoenix was one of my favorite shows. They are amazing live! We had so much fun dancing & the lead singer crowd surfed. Everyone was having the time of their lives during this show!

After Phoenix we stopped by Kanye West's performance but it was so crowded, muddy & we could hardly hear anything. We decided to sit near by & then went to Disclosure.

^^ Disclosure was amazing. They were def one of my other favorites during the festival. I had been wanting to see them for awhile so I was glad I finally did.

Stay tuned for the second half of our Bonnaroo adventure. Have you ever been to a music festival?
